black testicles PLEASE HELP my 6 month old Yorke's testicles are half black, and they look like the irritate him. dose anyone know what this might be??!?!?!?!! |
*BUMP* Sorry I don't have any answers for you. I hope someone knowledgeable sees this and can give you some info. |
I have noticed something similair to this with Lucky. It seems like the skin on there is dirty looking...but it isn't dirt cause I tried washing them with his soap on a cotton ball...and nothing....I am assuming that it's not bothering him, since he is never giving it any attention! He don't mind at all when I wash him there either...and he gets wiped there frequently with his Pet Wipes....ever time he goes potty...lol He is almost a yr and a half now! I was gonna snap a pic and put it on here to ask but I don't want to seem a pervert!! lol |
Have you asked the vet when you've been in? Usually if something turns black on a human it means that there is dead tissue. Could it just be his coloring? Guess I tend to be pretty cautious and run to the vet if I'm in question. Let us know what you find out. ~Joanne~ |
Seek professional advice Perhaps they are just colored that way? I'd not only ask the vet, I'd seek advice of a groomer, because groomers notice and look at the coloring and such on dogs to more of an extent that some vets do. locally I'm very lucky we have two groomers who are also veterinary technicians...I'd seek some advice from such a person, as well your vet, in case it is a skin infection. |
I am definitely in agreement with 4doggiemama, black tissue is usually a sign of necrosis, gangrene, or occlusion. I have not seen your pup, so cannot say for sure what it is exactly, but since you have already stated that it is noticeably bothering him, I would get him to the vet asap. Please keep us updated! |
Tobie's are the same way but since they don't seem to bother him and the vet has never said anything, I just figured it was normal. I don't know how accurate this is, but I did a google search and found this on justanswer.com. "The scrotum skin can darken as it has little fur and the skin 'tans' in dogs to a dark gray or black. Dog skin in this area can be dark pigmented like any skin on the dog's body can. Some dogs have dark spots under their fur that are just normal pigment coloring. If the area is sore, swollen, or one side is more enlarged than the other this could be a sign of a health issue needing your vet to check it out for treatment. But overall its a common color for that area of skin. Hope this helps you!" |
Thanks Krystee....this seems the case with Lucky!!:) |
Very normal.....some dog's testicles don't stay pink....it's all in the skin pigmentation. |
