HELP!! eye problems before i start i want to say i did call my vet she is not open on sunday i did called the emergency vet and they said it would be a hour to see my dog okay with that out of the way it was such a nice day i took my dogs for a walk when we got home one of the dogs wanted to stay out side so i grabbed my book and tied her up in the back yard and sat outside with her(i know better then to leave her alone) while we wear sitting in the yard a dog just bigger then mine come up as i was getting off the steps the dog attacked chichi i got him off and at first all i could see was a small nick in her ear and her being very upset i put her on the porch and tied the dog up and went in the house called animal control to come and get the dog then as i was cuddling Chichi i noticed that on one side of her eye it has turned red she is not pawing or scratching at it in fact she dose not seem to notice the eye at all it is only the one side of the one eye and only the white the rest of the eye is normal colored the pigmented part has not turned blue so she is not blind but any advice would be appreciated i would like to repeat i did call the vet i have a hour to wait until they will see her |
My advice....take her to the ER vet and wait an hour. Possible injuries to the eye are something you wanted treated asap. |
Good positive thoughts - you did what I would have done. The fortunate thing for us is that our vet happens to be in on Sundays. I hope is all is well when you see the ER vet in an hour or so. |

I don't have any suggestion, just sending prayers for your little one your way. |
I am sorry this happened to your baby....I hope everything turns out okay.....hugs your way. |
If your baby's not bothering her eye like she's in pain then she should be ok. I've been through this a couple of times with Soph. She has a bad habit of jumping off our bed and landing on the cat. The cat, being sound asleep at the time, usually doesn't react well:rolleyes:. 10 days of eye ointment and a round of antibiotics and Soph is fine, perfect vision and just a couple of little white spots on one eye to mark where the cat got her. The ER vet will probably put some drops in your baby's eye and then use a special light that will let him see if the cornea is scratched, how badly, how deep. From what you're describing, though, the eye should be ok. Keep us posted. |
sorry That took forever and the ER vet said Chichi was fine and sometimes a dog can have the whites of thear eyes go red if they are stressed or upset but this is normally a large dog thing chichi is a chi/doxie mix about 8 pounds but he said he was fine not damaged at all but wants me to talk to may regular vet about this happening apparently it is very very strange i wanted to thank everyone for thear kind words it helped i was in the waiting room 2 hours and in the exame room waiting another 30 min i was so upset about it they kept bumping her back but all it well and i will call regular vet in the morning |
