HI I am back.. and have a question about my Lily having surgery again. My poor Lily HI everyone. Its been so long. Not sure if you remember but Lily had to have open stomach surgery due to a toy that she ate. She has been fine since ( that 2 year surgery) until now. She has a incision hernia. She needs surgery again.. I am sooo scared. Do u think she will be ok? Thank you for any advice. Cathy:( |
:) don't worry, she will be A-OK.. She came thru the stomach surgery just fine and she will do the same with the hernia.. These dogs may be small but they are extremely strong. Good Luck to you. Keep us posted on her progress. |
I am so scared. The hernia is fine one day and next it is a little bigger. The doc told me it is up to me to decide. He said i can watch it and she vomits or if it changes color to do the surgery. She is acting fine playing, eating. I cannot decide what to do? |

Cathy, I wish I could tell you what's best for her but I cannot.. Only you know your pup better than anyone.. I would however get a second opinon on this hernia and surgery . A hernia in a yorkie or any dog is never Fine.. Eventually it will have to be addressed.. Again, get a second opinion soon. In the meantime, monitor her activity and mood very closely.. Dogs have a way of letting us know when they hurt. |

Wouldn't that mean that something had become twisted inside? To run the risk of it going that far would be much more dangerous, IMO. Mine would be in ASAP. Just my opinion, though. ~Joanne~ |
I agree, doesn't sound like something that you can wait on. It sounds as though you are very happy with your vet. It would not hurt to get a second opinion however. I wish you and your little girl all the best. It sounds as though she is a little fighter. :) Hugs. |
Lily is scheduled for surgery Tom ( weds) i am so scared this poor dog has been trhrough so much. I am satisfied wtih the vet that i am seeing now. I guess it is me being over anxious. I think this is from her surgery from years ago that they screwed up. I should have disputed that bill. Which is now too late. I was so overwhelemed with what happened all i did was go after the MFG which was a waste of time. Lily is much stronger now. ITs been 2 years and you would never know she has a hernia. This was something I noticed a few weeks ago. She has nothing but problems my poor lily, She is such a trooper. She gets so scared going into the VET her heart races. :(. I hope all is ok and I can take her home the same day tom, I swear if something esle goes wrong i dont know what i am going to do. |
we'll be keeping you and Lily in our thoughts and prayers today. Please let us know how she does. Hugs to you. She'll be great and be home in your arms in no time. :) |
Lily had surgery weds and it went well. the incision was bigger than what he thought. He also said he was glad that i did it when i did as it was much bigger and we would have run into more problems. So she has spot bleeding every now and than and going to town with the licking so i put on a ONZIE.. which was such great advice that i received from this web forum from her last surgery. She is doing much better now, Still sore but better. She has 8 stiches that will come out in 2 weeks. I just want her back to normal.:).. she is going to freak when i bring her to remove them. But the worst is over. |
I am so happy to hear Lily is through with surgery and healing. Hope this is the end to her surgeries!! |
