vomiting and diarrhea? I work night shift and just woke up to find many small spots of diarrhea in Emma's exercise pen and one spot of mucous that looks like vomit. SHe is acting fine, gums are wet and color3d good. SHe has had a lot of stress. We had to move to a new place but we've been here for 3 weeks. I was told that she was caught eating cat food last night while I was at work. ANYone know what's going on? I can't check back on here for a couple hours but I would really like suggestions. |
It could of very well been the catfood. I have read on here catfood isn't good for them. It has a lot more protein in it. Maybe a little bit of pure pumkin will help with the runny poop. |
how is she doing now? |
I would take a sample into the vets...I would be very surprised if one meal of cat food could make her poop mucousy .. I am leaning more towards gardia...but I am not a vet so it is better to be safe than not. |
I'd take your puppy to the vet with a stool sample as well. They can dehydrate rather quickly when small. |
I'm sorry for not replying earlier. She had me worried for hours after I wrote the post but since then she has been running around, eating and drinking fine, and no more loose stools or vomiting. I have no idea what happened. I'm still keeping a close eye on her but things seem to have went completely back to normal. I think a vet trip might be in order on Monday though just to make sure everything is ok. I'm pretty sure the mucous looking substance was vomit. It had a foul smell but not like poo, and it was in her bed. I can't think of anything besides the cat food and stress that could have caused it. Thank you for the suggestions! Hopefully nothing else happens but if it does I'll update and I'll update with a vet trip too! |
Glad she is feeling better:) |
