Pneumonia in my Kaz My Yorkie, Kaz has pneumonia and a partially collapsed lung. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks: |
Welcome to YT! Sorry to hear your pup is sick. I will assume you've had him to the vet and he is on medication? If you've brought him home on meds, he should show improvement in 24-48 hours, if not take him back in to the vet, he may be on the wrong antibiotic. Don't wait, as pneumonia is extremely serious in young pups and older dogs. Please keep us posted on his progress, and prayers to him that he recovers quickly. How old is he and how long have you had him? How long has he been sick? |
Is he at the vets or home? If he is home just watch him for any signs of worsening symptoms and get him back to the vet asap. I hope he feels better soon. |
So sorry to hear Kaz in sick. KJC and Patti have gave you some good advice. keep him warm keeping him in my prayers. hope her gets better soon. keep us updated on him. welcome to YT. |

We're both very worried now.......let us know what is happening. |
I seen a wire cage covered with plastic and a tank of CO2 hooked to it,do the purpose, but you need to know, how long to keep the pup in there and how much CO2 he needs. my mentor has one setup in her puppy nursery. hugs, Carmen in nj |

yes I seen that one too. I figured if i was going to make one I will use a vari kennel, she used a small wire cage and used the plastic that is used for window covering in winter by 3M. she likes the fact that she can see the puppies from all angles, which makes sense to me. I have the CO2 tank here but Thank God i have not need to use it yet. hugs, Carmen in nj |
Yes, it worked quite well. With her little one having a collapsed lung, I'm surprised her vet didn't want to keep her under an oxygen tent. Never heard for her, so I hope she's getting help. I'm off to bed...little Mr. Baxter is waiting very patiently for me..lol |
I am actually surprised this pup is not hospitalized. As for the oxygen thing, you really have to be careful about overheating. I really would like to hear how people have rigged them. I have only given oxygen at home with a mask...and some pups don't do well with them. |

Kaz was at the vet's office for 5 days and then to the emergency hospital for 3 days the back to the vet's before we decided to bring him home. I am coupaging him in a humidified room 3 times a day and that along with the meds seem to be helping. |
