Upset stomach need advice My yorkie hasn't been feeling well today. He's threw up last night after eating dinner and 1 time this morning. Today he's turned his nose up to food. He's been drinking here and there and held it down, but isnt interested in food. I made some chicken and rice and he's turned his nose at that too. I did give him some Nutrical earlier. He went poo this afternoon and it was firm so I'm thinking he's gotta upset tummy from being a bit constipated. He's sounding kind of gasy and I've noticed he's burped a few times. He's peeing just fine so I know he's not dehydrated. Would pumpkin settle his tummy? Is there anything I can give him tonight that might help him have softer stools or help make him feel better? If he's not better by the morning-he's going to the vet, but I wanna know what i can to tonight to help him feel better. |
i would not worry about food as long as he is drinking and you can try a little organic pumpkin but if he will not eat him just let him rest his tummy. Food is not as critical as water |
I sent my son to get some pumpkin and he's been to 2 stores and neither has any. Okay-I'll just encourage him to keep drinking. Is there anything I can do about the gas? Maybe he's having indigestion. I just dont want him to be uncomfortable. |
You can give dogs pepto |
Quote:
Bismuth Subsalicylate (Pepto-Bismol®, Kaopectate®) |
You could try plain yogurt or cottage cheese. |
He's feeling much much better. I did read up on the link above for pepto...it said its not recommended in cats and is given to dogs and the recommended dosages; although it hasnt been proven to be effective. I gave a little less than 0.4 ml and within half an hour he was up bouncing around. I waited a little bit longer and he did well so i offered & he ate some rice and chicken (only gave him a few bites just to be safe). He's completely back to his old self again and playing with his toys and even begging for treats. All I can say is WOW-100% turnaround. Such a relief :) |
Glad he is feeling better:) |
so happy your baby is feeling better |
