UTI, Water and Clavamox Good Morning, So Milo has a UTI. I was wondering when the Clavamox kicks in and should I be leaving a bowl of water down for him as usual, or should I monitor his intake? Oh and lastly......will he ever let me sleep through the night again:rolleyes: |
anyone? |
Not sure I understand the question, but yes, he shoyuld have water available at all time,, especially now. You could measure it out and then measure again at the end of the day if you wanted... |
Sorry lack of sleep. I was wondering when he will be showing signs that the medicine is working. Right now he is constantly wanting to go to the bathroom day and night. I usually leave food and water out all day for him and was not sure if I should change it if he should be drinking so much at this time. |

do you have him wee wee pad trained? If so put those down in house i would use bottled spring water as you want him to dring alot of water when he has infection not less water to flush the infection out- the infection could be from not enough water in first place so make sure to change often as mine will not drink if not fresh water a couple times a day as you do not want him to get stones did they see crystals in urine on the urinalysis? and was his ph balance ok? |

out for him so he has access all the time. I spoke to one of the Dr.'s yesterday the one who examined him was not in. What they said was his there are white blood cells in his urine, and that he is only 1 grade above normal. He was not sure if this was a True UTI or and Irritated Blatter, they are thinking maybe it is stress related due to the dental the other day. He wants to speak with the Dr. that examined him to see what how his bladder felt upon examination. One thing I love about my Vet is they are very very attentive and explain everything in lamens terms. |
I would definitely keep several bowls of fresh filtered water out. You want him to flush out his urinary system. You will get to sleep eventually, lol! It is just very painful, speaking from experience. |
