Growling stomach and eating grass Rosie's stomach is growling and she keeps wanting to outside to eat grass. We already have an appointment for her yearly exam in the morning, but I was wondering if there is anything I can do settle her stomach until then. Thanks in advanced. |
What about some easy-to-digest carby things like some white bread or saltine? Carbs are nice for getting the tummy to settle, and they also absorb some of those restless juices. :) |

Thank you. I will give these a try. |
sometimes they will eat grass because they want to make themselves throw up as they have an upset tummy so maybe just resting the tummy might be best and do a 12 hr fast as if you add to tummy she may start vomitting. When dex would do this after having pancreatitis the hospital told me not to let them eat grass and so we kept dex on wee wee pads. It is tough as it is a toss up stomach acids vs vomitting. You could try to feed regular kibble to absorb stomach acid but if she starts vomitting i would hold off on food. Does she lick her lips alot as that is a sign of being nauseated |
She's not eating either:( |

I would let her tummy rest for 12 hrs then try giving her a few pieces of food to see if she wants it |

About once every 2 months Layla will wake up JUST like you are describing her tummy- SO noisy- won't eat a thing. I have to force feed yogurt to her and that settles things right down. If i were to let her outside she'd be eating the grass. It happens enough now that i know what to do as soon as i hear the noises. |
