let me add this... i believe kindness between members of a forum is imperative and i get zero joy out of expressing an opinion that might make someone else feel badly...especially when they're dealing with a crisis. i do not believe that krystal had anything but positive intentions when she first came here and would venture to say that most people are in agreement there. unfortunately, she was offered what sounded like a miracle from a member here who was simply unable to deliver. ok....so that sucks....but that's life. things don't go as planned most of the time. i contend that a humane person would put their own feelings aside here and go to plan b....which i would think would be to take the darn advice of the people who actually know what they're talking about. this is not a gray issue. your dog (adorable as she is) will not survive given your circumstances. it sounds cruel and i hate to say it, but you are not in a position to handle her care. you need to turn her over to a rescue. now. perhaps down the line, with education and time and experience, you will be in a position to help someone else who ends up in the same position you are now. that would be the ultimate pay it forward and you could do it in honor of melody. i believe you are going to lose melody either way. you have two options: lose her to someone who can potentially save her, or lose her to death. maybe both options are hard to think about....doesn't change the fact that they're all you've got to pick from. please choose the option that gives her a chance. |

Correct me if I'm wrong. |
Wow this is so ridiculous, this is not about what is best for KystaL, this is about Melody. Kathleen you are so adamant about Melody staying with Kystal, but the way this is being handled she will lose the poor baby in the long run because she will die! At least if she "loses her" through a rescue they can get her the care she so desperately needs, Melody will have a chance at life, which is what should matter most. Reading this thread is maddening, I fell like people are just spinning their wheels and getting no where. |
I will NOT be sending a dime unless its to a RESCUE. I think this is a scam and Krystol, I am sorry if its not. But you have been given great advise and choose to stay with Kathleen who wont disclose ANY information reguarding this matter and apparently hates doctors and thinks eveything is for Research and trying to set up paypal threads. Sorry Kathleen, I dont buy it. |
YOU are the one who said it was the breeder's fault...just figured you would want to expose her/him. Trust me....if we did expose this breeder it would NOT be at the expense of Melody. There are many of us READY AT THIS MOMENT to get her the RIGHT help. Quote:

You are wrong!! Email YTNR and ask them how many liver shunt pups they take in each year. We have only had a couple the past couple of years, but it is not something we do if YTNR can take the pup since they do have a hook up at UT. It also takes a very experienced foster home to deal with liver shunt issues. Rescues are bombarded with very sick pups that require very expensive vetting! YOu can look on Guidestar.org and look up the rescues 990s. Take a look at the vet costs! |
I'm not sure what the answer is, but I think this needs to be locked for now. I'd be willing to help connect one of the rescue folks with Melody. I think one of the rescue folks would also be willing to speak with the vet. I am very afraid for Melody's well being, at this point. Update: just wanted to update, I received a PM from a rescue who is willing to fly out, pick-up Melody, and get her the help she needs {that is, if everything can be confirmed by a vet} |
