Vomiting - Any ideas why?
 
Cissy has thrown up the last 2 nights. Only once each night, first night just yellow bile, last night had 2 very tiny bits of food with it. This is our first (knock on wood) experience with any sickness. She is 7 months and 7 lbs (can't tell you how many times I hear - "She is sooooo Big") :eek:
She eats Wellness dry free feed and Wellness canned for supper (around 7pm) - same food since she has owned us, no changes, no new treats, etc. The vomiting happened in the wee hours of the morning. No other ill effects, everything else seems normal. Any ideas?? Any advise? Please!!

I have read here that when they throw up yellow bile, it is because they aren't eating enough. Maybe she just needs more food. Look at this link, does it sound familiar?

No two batches of dog food is exactly the same regardless of the name or company. Take her off that stuff and try giving her some nice red meat and veggies to see if that solves the problem, and if it doesn't, then she should be seen by a Vet.

Thank you for this link, I certainly hope it's that simple. I was sure someone on YT would have the answers. This will be the first thing I will try tonight and see if there is a change. At 2 nights, I'm not in panic mode "yet" but want to get an immediate handle on this! Thanks!

I know most dogs like wet food a lot more than dry but it is kind of diluted because it has so much water added. Could you mix it with her dry food?

That was what i was gonna say. if Uni doesn't eat, (like if she refuses :rolleyes:) she will end up vomiting the frothy yellow stuff. After that, I guess she kind of knows she needs to eat. She usually does it in the late morning when she hasn't eaten since dinner last night. Thankfully she hardly does it anymore.

Thank you! I listened carefully last night and I actually heard Cissy's stomach start making noise. I gave her a snack and no further problem. I will try the suggestion tonight to mix some dry food with her supper and see if that holds her over. Thanks! :thumbup:

Yellow bile, definately due to hunger, increase her feedings......

How old is your girl and how many feedings a day is she getting?

White bile, usually indicative of tonsillitis

She is 7 months and weighs just under 8 lbs. I free feed dry during the day so food is always available, but then feed canned for supper.
