Weird color poop Emmett just poop, and it was yellow/whitish. What could have caused this? He had another stool next to it that was normal colored. |
Did he eat any toilet paper or tissues? That'd be my guess because my dogs are toilet paper addicts, but I'm not sure. It's probably a good sign that the next poop was normal though. |
I don't think he ate any tp or tissues, there are none torn up around the house. Someone told me he could have something really wrong so I am freaking out. |
Is he acting fine aside from the poop? I'd call the emergency vet to see what they say. |
my york had his anal glands cleaned by the vet and white / yellow stuff came out. maybe it was stuff from his anal glands? |
i know this sounds wierd but take a pic if it happens again as i do that alot and videos on digital camera to take into vet etc as i have little ones with health issues. Is it a clear jelly type with yellow if so that is stress colitis poop |

weird colored poop I wouldn't worry about the poop, especially since the next one was normal colored. These little ones eat things they find and we don't know about it until it comes out. If he's acting normal and eating, just watch him and don't panic. Also, having the anal gland expressed can cause that as it's the same color as what comes out then. Belle had bright blue poop and upon closer look it was also furry  turns out Mr blue puppy toy was missing an ear! I'm sure it's fine. Just watch. Never a dull moment with these little ones. |

I was freaking out because I was looking pale stool up online and I found all kinds of scary causes... giardia, liver and pancreatic problems... I am praying that it is not these things. One question... yesterday my mom gave Emmett a bunch of treats... like 5 or 6 because it was a holiday. The treats were soft and yellow. Could those have maybe played a part in the pale poo? One more thing... it was not unusually smelly... thats a good sign, right? Thank you all for your support. |
Oh, yes, treats will change the color The yellow treats have more dye in them than regular food, so they could have affected the color of his bm. The red ones always worry me when they come out, but I try to mix the colors - then the green ones reassure me that the treats are the cause of the fancy palette! |
I am quite sure it was from the treats! |
i would also bet it was the treats. Years ago with my first yorkie, her urine was red tinged. I panicked and took a sample to the vet for testing. Both the vet and I were sure there was blood in the urine. The lab said it was negative for blood. The vet had it retested but still no blood. Then I noticed her stool was also reddish. It then hit me about some new red colored treats that I feeding my baby. Now I am really careful with what I feed my new Yorkie. |
Sometimes it's what they ate - if my dogs have plain yogurt or their favorite bones, their poop is usually that color. |
Most likely from the treats. I just had a foster pup with Giardia and there was blood and mucous and it had a bad smell and massive diahrea. Hope all is well today. |
