We almost lost our Gabby last night Last night as we were waiting for midnight, my son gave Gabby a Snausage (we always just break off a tiny piece). He says he was holding it for her and she took the whole small piece from his hand. I'm so glad he watched her walk away from him because he said she was walking funny and brought her to me.To make a long story short, she was foaming at the mouth and squeeking to us, trying to cough. We were on our way to the emergency vet which is 30 minutes from us when she eventually seemed okay. The little treat must have disolved. We pulled off the road to wait with her to make sure she was really okay. So that's what we were doing at midnight new years eve. The whole thing only lasted 15-20 minutes, but we thought we were going to lose her.:( I've since printed out the CPR and Heimlich from this site to keep on the fridge. I was trying to find it durring the ordeal but was not logged on and in my panick just could not get to it! Print it out if you haven't so you have it! Also- of course- I've cut the treats ALL up into teeny pieces! |
OMG how scary. I am glad she is ok. |
Oh my goodness. Thats so scary. I'm really glad that things worked out ok. Being a volunteer EMT, I'd say CPR is a great thing to know whether its for a person or an animal. I'd like to mention that I just received my YorkieTalk Calendar and see that they have added animal CPR info to the back of the calendar along with other great info. I just finished skimming through the calendar and I have to say everyone involved did an awesome job in putting it together. Its way better than any Yorkie calendar I've every purchased! |

WOW - Very scary!! We are very thankful here that Gabby is okay. I read a similar story on YT before and immediately printed the CPR instructions out and put them on my fridge. I, too, noticed them in the calendar as well and was VERY pleased to see this! Huggs |
I am so sorry, and so thankful that Gabby is ok!! This is a great reminder to people to know/learn Yorkie CPR/Heimlich before we need to use it. Because just like you said, once the panic sets in, things are not easy to locate or get online. Big hugs to you and gentle hugs for Gabby, sooo happy this story has a happy ending  |
What a scare! I am so glad Gabby is okay! For anyone reading this, here are the directions for CPR to print out and have on hand just in case: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...uture-use.html |
These things happen so quickly, thank God your baby is ok. Happy New Year! |
