snorting and sneezing Hi Pixie is 18 weeks old and yesterday she started snorting like she has something in her nose and ocassionally she will sneeze. It is mostly when she runs and plays. I was wondering if this could be a cold or a start of an upper respitory infection, or allergies.. I am making her an appointment at the vet just to make sure. Any thoughts? |

I took Pixie to the vet and he said it was a virus that she had a cold and that as long as her nasal discharge wasn't colored than no antibiotics are needed. He listend to her lungs and she is fine. So I have to pray that she fights this lil cold off. |

My Miracle is doing the same thing. I know she has allergies. Right now it sounds like her nose is stuffy and runny and that she has post-nasal drip and that is making her cough a little. She is sounding better today than she has in the past few days. I think because she knows she is going the vet tonight. |

Pixie started this 5 days after the vaccintaion. The vet told me just to keep an eye on her breathing. She seems to be acting fine except for the snorting and sneezing. |

No, she has allergies. However when I took Rebel to get his bordetella he did have a cough about 7 to 10 days after the vaccine, it only lasted for a couple of days and then it was gone. |

Same going on here! Molly had her shots last week and last night I noticed a sneeze then a cough. I called in this morning and they told me to watch her, it hasn't gotten any worse so I'm hoping after reading these posts that it will run its course. She is still eating, playing, and barking away so I'm hoping its nothing serious. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. |

Everything I have read or questioned the vet about they always as long as they are still eating, drinking, playing and no vomiting or diarrehea, than things are good. Rebels cough only lasted for about four days, I would say if it is much past that I would make a trip to the vet. From what I remember it should not be longer than that. |
Thanks for the links. Quote:
