natashamullis | 11-20-2009 09:35 AM | My yorkie woke up disoriented and shaking Hey guys its been a while since I been on here! But I just moved to Florida and with the move its been hetic. But anyway I have an Emergency question? This am my 3 1/2 year old yorkie woke up at 6:30 am she was disoriented and shaking all over and was off balance and couldnt walk her head was turning to one side and her eyes looked like deer in headlights, I could tell she was scared I yelled for my husband to wake up I held her very close and kept telling her it was alright we rushed her to the ER vet her in Saint Pete FL and she was acting normal by the time we got there? They said for us to bring her home and keep and eye on her and try to video it if it happens again? Im so worried I dont what to do? she acting normal now? I dont where to go from here? They mentioned maybe a seizure, or muscle spasm? They said they just couldnt diagnose without seeing the episode which I totally understand! Please help if any of you have experienced this.
4 years ago we lived down here before moving back to KY for 3 and our other yorkie we had starting presenting the same symptoms but Tiki my dog now isnt as severe. We had to put the other dog in ICU for 5 days she got better on her on and then a month later she relapsed and ended up dying they never figured out what it was but the vets were looking into COON HOUND SYNDROME which is very rare disease you get from raccoons? But I am just panicking because Tiki wasnt acting like that with same symtpoms as the other yorkie!? Please Help! |
