My Yorkie Is Unable To Move i'm a proud owner of a 1 year old yorkie, princess. she is extremely lovable. one evening, she just laid on the floor, feeling all restless & from then, she is unable to move. it just occured within minutes. i sent her to the vet for emergency treatment and its been 5 days, she is still at the veterinary centre seeking medication & nursing care. basic tests such as x-rays, blood test have all been taken & were all unable to give a diagnosis of what has went wrong with princess. hence, the vet is suspecting a neurological problem. the vet is putting her on trial medicine now & she did show a slight progress in comparison to the 1st night i sent her to the vet for emergency, but still unable to move her limbs & even her bowels. she has lost quite some weight since & now she has to be on feeding tube. i'm seriously in a great lost of what i should do... its really heart-wrenching to see princess in this condition... can someone please advice or is anybody experiencing similar case to mine? |
This is a new one to me. Sorry to hear about her health crisis. Hugs! |
I've never heard of something happening that fast for no reason. Thats a new one on me too. I hope your little one gets better...my prayers are with you and your little one. |
I am so sorry :( I have no advise but I really feel for you! good luck with lil Miss Princess!:( |
I am so sorry to here this about your baby! You are in my prayers and I will pray for her. Just a thought, do you have any house plants? Could she have eaten something that is poisonous that would have paralyzed her? |
That's very strange. Is it possible she was bitten by something? Bug, snake etc while outdoors. Some bites can cause paralizes (s). Sending prayer's for your baby to come out of this horrible thing that has happened to her. Hugs, |
Sending out warm wishes and healthy thoughts but sry I don't know anything about this |
You Will Feel Our Support I am so sorry. I hope that your Princess gets well. Try to stay strong and calm so she will gain strength from your love and presence. PLEASE keep us posted on how she is progressing. |
Sounds like AAI there are a few babies here with it. I am on the road right now but will write more later. Ask you vet about AAI neck not connected causing paralyzation, she needs to see a specialist asap |
Did they test her for lyme disease? I use to house sit a pug and I noticed one day he didn't come to the door when I came in and I had to pick him up off the bed bc he wouldn't move. I called his owner and they took him to the vet and he had lyme disease! They got it in time and he is ok. I hope your poor baby is ok! |
I'm very sorry to hear about that... Anyway, my best friend did experience the same situation, that was some years ago. There was one morning, she woke up and shocked to realize she couldn't move, not at all. She laid on bed for a whole week. As I know, she did check with doctors, but the doctors have no idea how it actually happened to a healthy person, and they couldn't find the reason. A week later, she recovered without any medications, even the doctors were surprised. I hope your baby's situation is the same with my best friend...hope your baby will be okay after a few days :) |
sorry i cant help but good thoughts your way i hope she will be fine |
I am so sorry to hear your baby is paralyzed. I do know of a couple of cases where this happened but not of the severity you are describing. The two dogs I know of just suddenly were unable to walk but they did not appear to be in pain and their front legs were not paralyzed. Vets did not know what was wrong. In both cases the dogs eventually made full recoveries. It is so heartbreaking watching a beloved pet suffer. You feel so helpless. I know you do not want to give up to soon. If the vets can get her to the point where she can eat and poop on her own, then I feel with time she can recover. If she is hurting and in pain then that is a different story. My prayers go out to you and your precious girl. Hugs. |
You must be so worried! I have never heard of such a thing happening, but I'm sending prayers your way now. |
I am so sorry to hear this about your pup Something so sudden and severe like this sounds to me like a bleed somewhere in the central nervous system My prayers go out to you |
