Scared :( So our puppy (9 months old boy) has not been eating his kibble for the past 2 days. Then today, his poo was runny in the morning. Then when we got home, we found throw-up and pee on our rug. He rarely has pee accidents. And he was really really lethargic. Waaa :( :( He's usually very hyper and energetic. We got worried so I gave him some nutrical then gave him some meat, yogurt, and salmon. (Because we figured he needed to get his energy up somehow.) He seems better and seems like he has more energy than before we fed him. He's playing too. He seems back to normal... Does anyone have any idea why he isn't eating his kibble? Was he just lethargic because he didn't have food in him? Or could he have had a bug? Why would he throw up? What should we do? By the way, his kibble is Blue Buffalo Chicken for puppies. He went through phases of liking it/not liking it. But he's done so well on it for a while... Did any of your dogs not like Blue Buffalo? Have you tried something else that's both nutritious and tasty to them? Thank you. |
could be food or could not :( how was your dog eating on prior food any issues on that ? What is protein count on new food vs old and what is fat content on new food vs old. Could be hypoglycemia or could not :(. Usually they do not vomit or have diarhea with hypoglycemia though so makes me think this is something else in combo. HOw much does your baby weigh? Is your baby drinking alot of water as water is more important than food when stomach is upset but if you have a tiny one i would get to vet to have him checked out . liver shunt runs in this breed and your baby is young and liver shunt signs are spaced out after eating, vomitting, seizures, picky eater, head pressing, etc - have you seen any of these signs. Hypoglycemia and liver shunt go hand and hand as well A yorkie is 38% more likely than any other breed to have liver shunt so you may want to have blood work and bile acids on this pup just to make sure the liver is functioning properly. Our vet thinks all yorkies and maltese should have pre and post bile acids to test liver function since it runs so high in the breed |
