Ok, I am in PANIC Mode
 
I was petting Milo and all of a sudden I noticed a bump on the back of his neck, I looked and it feels like a small bump but apears to be a small red open wound. It does not seem to bother him when I touch it and he was great in letting me take pictures of it but when I tried to attach the pictures the files are to big, I do not know what to do?:eek:

Lulu had a bump on her back too a month or two ago. I mentioned it to the vet when I had to take a urine sample in when I thought she had a UTI. He said as long as it was just one bump and wasn't getting bigger that it was probably just a little staph infection and would go away. He said if it got bigger or spread, I should bring her in. It did end up going away.

Maybe just give your vet a call tomorrow and describe it and see if they want you to bring Milo in.

I have that same problem with pictures....just make an album on your profile page and link it ;)

Thank you, I already left a message for the Vet to call me in the morning. I looked online for pictures of Tick Bites and I have a feeling that is what it is:(

Thank you Thank you, I did just that so if anyone can see the pictures are npt that great but they are in my Milo's world album. I would really appreciate any help

Sounds very much like a tick bite...try putting some rubbing alcohol with a q-tip or cotton ball to clean the area. Check the bedding etc.... the tick fell off somewhere.

I will have to look around better considering the bedding is my BED :eek: After looking a several pictures I am leaning towards tick bite myself. I am just hoping that my Vet will get us in tomorrow.

Oh nooo....that happened to me a few months ago. I found a tick or three in my house after discovering the bite on Max. I've been paranoid for months. I still find myself looking around and checking him everyday just to be sure. He's on a different preventative now so hopefully we are back to normal now.

Be sure to strip your bed and wash everything in hot water just to be on the safe side. Good luck!

Thanks for all your replies, we just got back from the Vet and low and behold it was a $49.00 scratch, how in the world the boy got a scratch on the back of his neck I do not know they said perhaps when he was playing with other dogs. They cleaned it up with peroxide and sent us on our way. She said the scab will fall off in about a week and there is nothing to worry about. God they can scare the heck out of us:rolleyes:

when doing pics copy the pic and then click edit and compress down to a web page and save then you can attach that pic on the threads
