I am so very sorry for your loss. It is so very hard to lose a furbaby. I will keep you in my prayers. |
I too, lost my 14 month baby on 6/1/09. My circumstances was that he died during surgery to put pins and plates in his front legs. They were 5 minutes before finishing and my darling Max had a heart attack. The vets worked 45 minutes and could not bring him back. My Max only weighed 1 lb 9 oz and because he was do small, I think that his size had a lot to do with it. I am so sorry that you have lost your baby. But take comfort in the fact that you sweet baby is up at the Rainbow Bridge will all the other yorkies that have gone before. They are running and leaping and barking up a storm, just waiting for you. |
I am so very sorry about your sweet furbaby. Sending deep sympathy.... |

I didn't read any of the other replies. But I just want to tell you I can tell you I know how you feel. My girl Stormy ( may she rest in peace ) passed away on July 13th, in a very similar situation. At first I thought it may of been my other dog who "killed" her but after much thought and talking to my hubby about what happen, it is exactly what you are exactly saying. It was within a few mins after the yelp that she passed away. This was not the first time we had this happen, when she came to us just 8 months earlier then this incident she suffered from two grand mal seizures that happen the exact same way. She would let out a yelp, go totally limp, was not breathing but her heart was going. Those times we did CPR and took her outside into the cool air and it snapped her out of it. We didn't have many tests run at the time but the vet said she was having seizures. I say it was due to a new home and stress. She was a very delict little girl. She was only 2 when she died. The day she passed my hubby was home alone with out dogs and our daughter, no car to go to the vet and he was in a panic. I am not sure if thats what took your babies life but it is very similar, may she rest in peace now. |

I usually dont post on forums, I am more of the lurker and learn type. But your post has me in tears. God bless you... Im so sorry for your loss. I wanted to maybe give you some ideas that I know I never considered until it happened to my girlfriends pom. Does anyone in your home need/use RX drugs for pain or anxiety/nerves? Dont answer! lol Just think about it. I'd never expect you to answer that. Here's why I ask: These medications are usually extremely strong and seem to always be extremely small. The smaller the Narcotic, the higher the dosage, generally. My girlfriend's dog passed very much like you described. To a 'T' really. Her dog had heart failure and died... but not of natural causes. Instead, her mother admitted that she dropped a Oxycotin 30 tablet previously in the day and could never find it. Shes the type that cant let things go. She gets her answers. She begged the Vet to please send blood to a lab to test for narcotics. Sure enough, narcotics present! Her 2 year old lil pom did, indeed, suffer a heart attack. But ONLY as a result of finding and ingesting the pill dropped earlier that day. A powerful narcotic. Im not implying drug abuse and surely not passing judgment. People need narcotics in some cases. Nothing like that was going on. I, myself, have an RX for narcotics so please know I am passing no judgment. I just want to put this out there as a reminder to us all... remember one dropped pill is lethal. What I do is request everyone on medication here always open and ingest their medicine over the sink. Risk eliminated. I suspect many pets that 'drop dead' do so as a result of this very issue. This experience is why I have done so much research about this topic. Also, Im in no way saying this is what happened to your baby... nooo. I am just giving you a 'something to think about' because I know NOT knowing is sometimes the hardest part. I think the whole issue of RX drugs and our pups needs to be touched on in a huge way. Im not one to start a thread but if I were... it would be about that and I could share all of my research on the subject. I am so sorry for your loss and I hope you get the answers you seek. I cant even imagine your pain. God bless you. Know someone cares! (by the looks of it, many do!) Let me know if I can help you in any way. Mikaela |
:thumbup:Mikaela, very good point. I think this might happen more often than people realize. I also remember that a couple of years ago there was a heart worm preventative pill that started causing many dogs to have a sudden heart attack. It was pulled from the market but these manufacturers just whipped out another pill under another name. Most people are so traumatized by the sudden death of a pet that they do not follow up with an autopsy. Sadly sometimes many dogs will suffer the consequences of these 'new' drugs before the public is made aware of their dangers. |
I'm so sorry that your yorkie baby died. I know there really isn't any way to console you, and it's confusing to watch a young one die. I know your heart hurts right now. Callie |
so sorry for your lost... sending my thoughts an prayers to you.. you now have a very special guardian angel watching out for you, the love you shared will always be there... |
This reminds me of my little guy Babybear.. IF i was not here when he jump off my lap..Or jumped off anything he would not be here.. Babybear yipped sometimes but he really yelped the day he died on my living room floor..With my husband giving him mouth to mouth to the vets office that is what saved him.. We found out later he has Atlantoaxial Instability.. IT is a defect in the neck.. In the cervical vertebra. And death is sometimes immedatedly.. Thank god we were able to save him.. But it is happens with out anyone ever knowing that thier pup has Altantoaxial Instability sometimes there is a post motem.. We still have Babybear with us happy and health, but with a lot of fight.. I am so so sorry for your loss. My heart is breaking for you hon.. Please know that your baby is now in gods hands.. Sending healing thoughts and prayers to you hon.... |
My heart aches for you! My thoughts and prayers are with you as no words can bring your sweet lil baby girl back, but know that she is with God and is watching over you now sweetie. Hugs to you at this tragic time |
