Toby has hurt his leg Toby has a cave bed for sleeping in. I was lifting him out of it last night to take upstairs and he started squealing. It only lasted a few seconds, but he wouldnt put his back leg down after. I dont know what happened. It didnt feel like it was stuck in the bed, that I would've caught it or twisted it getting up. He was like that for a few hours this morning, but the longer he was up and about, he was nearly walking on it like normal. It seems to be worse after he has woken up from a sleep. He will limp for a while then goes back to normal. I can touch and move his leg and he doesnt yelp, so I dont think there is too much wrong with it. Can they cramp or pull muscles like we do? Should he go to the vet? I hate taking him to the vet, too many bad experiences there, and like to avoid it at all costs! |
It sounds like he may have a sprain or sore muscles. It may be something else but if you don't think he's in a great deal of pain, I'd say just watch him closely for a couple of days. If he's not back to normal by the end of the week, you should take him in to get checked over. |
