Sending prayers to you all! Hope your babies are feeling better today! |
I hope this morning finds your little ones feeling much much better. It's hard when they can't tell us what is going on with them. |
Good News! It's been a great morning. :) They are both alert, happy, and running around everywhere. :D They just had a good breakfast and have been playing pretty hard. I suspect there will be a nap soon. Thanks again everyone. |

Wow, Judy - so glad both babies are okay!!! What a good reminder about patch meds, I don't use them, but I never would've thought of flushing them - thanks for posting that. HUGS to the babies. :) |
:eek:Good lordy!!! Sorry they had to both experience this within days of one another ....Thank god they are both doing fine..... |
You are all wonderful. They are almost back to their normal, playful selves. Thanks again! |
Oh, Judy! What a night you had! I am so glad you found the cause and that both Gizmo and Kandi are doing better. How scary! Get some rest today. I am sure you are exhausted. Hugs, Nancy |

Judy ~ I'm so thankful your little ones are doing fine, now! Thank you for this important reminder! |
I wonder if Gizmo had symptoms later because he didn't find the patch until later, possibly while you were busy with Kandi. |
I'm glad they are both fine and you found the culprit. I would never have thought to flush a patch!!!! Thanks so much for posting this as I'm sure you will be helping others. Our hugs to Kandi, Gizmo, you and John!!!!!!!!! Hope you all get a much needed nap! |
Great news! Have a wonderful day playing with Kandi and Gizmo!! |
So glad that they are getting back to their old selves. Thank goodness! |
Glad you found out what they got into and that they are feeling better. just curious, what microgram was his fentanyl patch? these are used on dogs too and i'm curious to know how strong a patch for a human would be. |
You guys are the best! We still have them on the special diet the vet gave us...Science AD and pumpkin. They are doing much better. The little stinkers are making me hand feed them though. lol! But I'm just happy they are eating. |

I'm so glad you found the culprit.. after they felt better, they may have started chewing on the patch again.. Thanks for the heads up! CJ also has patches and he had one come up missing off his chest. We searched for days and couldn't find it. It doesn't help matters when it is tranparent. Until three weeks later, I noticed one of my boys wasn't himself, he was wayyyy too tired and had a "stoned" look to his eyes so off to the Vet we went. They gave him some of the same treatment and when we got home, we found the patch at the foot of CJ's chair. Luckily it wasn't chewed on, but he had gotten enough to affect him. Where it was for 3 weeks.. I don't know, but the little stinker had found it. He also was better the next day. But a very good reminder about meds, it could have been devastating! |

They used one on one of my fosters after major surgery on his leg and he got so messed up from it they did not discharge him on the day expected. I went to see him and he did not even recognize me....really scared me to see him like that. I don't think I would ever let them use a patch again after that incident. |
