strange feces, help! Kingston has had very strange stools for about 3 days now. The first one looked like it had mucous in it, it was not solid, but not diarrhea. Now it is completely liquid. He was barking like crazy so we put his crate in the back room and when I was again woken up by his howling, I noticed his crate was covered in feces and urine- kingston too. obviously I will call the vet right when they open. Any Ideas whats wrong and the price range for treating ? Anyone know the price to send a stool sample for analysis? Poor kingston! |
This could be giardia and has to be treated by a vet. Costs are different at each vet...make sure you take in a stool sample with you as they will need one. You should always pay attention to a dogs poop...in many cases it will be your first indication if something is wrong with your little one. Dog Owner's Guide: Giardia |
Fecal testing here is $28.00. I remember Buddy having that when he was a puppy. Has your puppy been wormed? |
I would definitely get him to the vet ASAP, sounds wrong. Could be infection or allergies. The only way to make sure, is to get to the vet. Stool samples do not cost much. Let us know what the vet finds out. |
