9 months old, twitching bitching foot and chomping air, excessive licking help! Hi, I am getting very worried about my Yorkie Maverick, he is 9 months old and has so far not had a single health problem. Tonight he started out by licking his front right leg excessively however when we pressed on it he didn't seem to show any signs of pain in the region. I woke up a few hours later and he was still doing it but ow he was twitching and chomping at the air, when I try and calm him down he begins to lick me almost uncontrollably. I plan on taking him to the vet in the morning but I am wondering if this is something I should be super worried about or if he just has a bug bite or something. This is my third time tonight being woken up by the problem and I cannot sleep, any thoughts? PS. The other day we noticed he had a bit of white liquid in his pee.... not sure if its related. |
To the vet. The white sounds like it could be pus in the urine? Infection? Hurry off and please update us with what the vet says. good luck hun |
Any update? I'm not sure what to make of those symptoms, poor guy...it could be so many different things... |
So the Vet was booked for the next 4 days, and the morning after he just stopped and got back to normal. It's strange its like nothing happened to him. I booked the vet visit but decided to cancel because he hs been running around in the park and nothing seems abnormal about his pee or stool, hes sleeping fine at night and seems happy as a clam. I think I am going to self diagnose this one as teething, he has recently lost 2 teeth and is growing in his second layer of teeth... if anyone has a reason for me to be extremely concerned I would love to hear it but until then I think I am going to just let him run free for now. |
The will chomp at the air if they have a baby molar that is 1/2 off and bothering them. I think you may want to at least take a urine sample into the vet though. UTI sypmtoms can ease while he would still have the infection. |
