13 year old yorkie hacking when inactive My 13 year yorkie is about 14 lbs :) At night when he is about to fall asleep he would produce a hacking cough for a good minute or two... he'll do it in the middle of the night and just when he is laying around doing nothing. He is otherwise very active and does not produce any cough when he is playing/running or during walks... any ideas? Thanks |
It's vet time. It could be any number of things but with his age it could be his heart so I wouldn't wait on this. |
I agree @ his age the first thing I thought of was fluid around his Heart. It's a good idea to have your Vet check him out asap!! Good-Luck and please keep us updated....:goodluck::xfingers: |
Sounds like congestive heart failure. Get hi to the vet. It is very treatable if that's what it is |

just curious; does he wear a collar when going to sleep; maybe it's a bit tight on his throat; my dog has a slight collapse trachia and she can't wear any collars i hope he feels better soon |
How is he? did you take him to the vet? |
