Sensitive stomachs :aimeeyorkMy two 12 weeks old yorkies have such sensitive tummies after getting them home i kept them on the same soaked dry food and introduced them to butchers puppy food, their motions are up and down sometimes its soft and other times its like yogurt consistency, when they go the last bit always seams runny and they are straining, any suggestions? I have yet to have a normal stool. |
You might try posting on the health and diet page You aren't being ignored. I hesitate to offer any advice, since they are so young, just be sure to follow your doctor's advice. Maybe someone who raises puppies can help. |
I am not a breeder but when mine were young pups they always had soft poops. They werent like a tootsie roll like they are now but they werent runny just soft |
Welcome to Yorkie Talk. Anytime you introduce a new food you need to do it very slowly, even if you have kept them on the other food as well. If they seem to have sensitive tummies moving forward, you may want to try using a daily probiotic for them. Also, since they are still pups, if the stools get too loose, mucousy or bloody, make sure to have them tested for parasites. |

Pups are very prone to parasites, so if there are poo issues - getting a fecal test is so easy and helpful. :) |
Thankyou Thanks all for your reply, got my pups checkout out at the vets today and all seams well, temp fine and tummies feel good, so its a food issue, i have bought probiotic yoghurt so hope this works .. once again thanks for all your kindness in replying :) x |
