I took this video last night on my cell phone (hence the poor quality) but I wanted to share... she really does not realize her size! lol She seriously did this for a solid 30mins or more. We could not stop laughing. During this time she wasn't doing her barking (which is too cute! lol) so I will have to get another one of her another time with her in action :) Less than 2 weeks and back to UT we go! :D Oh by the way, we have a lil chunky monkey on our hands! She is up to 2lb. 7oz! lol hahaha That's wonderful and 6.5oz she has gained in a little over 2 weeks. :) |
Bless Dozer's heart...if he had swatted her like the gnat she was being, poor Ginger would have landed in next week...LOL They are so cute together! Ginger is amazingly full of energy. I'm so glad she's gained some weight through this crisis. It will help her as she faces surgery, don't you think? Gosh, I still hate the thought of her going through major surgery when she is so tiny though. What are the details with UT? Do you go for a check-up prior to going for the surgery or is it all done in one visit? (Meaning is the surgery date actually set?) Sending good thoughts your way today! |
Little stinker...she acts like the picture of health. Ummmm...what is she going to be like AFTER surgery????? Whoaaaaa...wild girlie! |
Ginger Terrorizing Dozer Looks as if Ginger took over Baxter's job. If Ginger is like her brother then after surgery she will be a wild child. I am so glad to see her being wild. |

The goals of waiting a month until surgery were: 1. get more booster shots 2. gain more weight 3. Become stronger 4. manage with diet and meds to see if they can have "better" test results (they would like the scintigraphy to show the shunt much more localized) From my knowledge, when we go back, she will have surgery. She will have another scintigraphy done to see if the shunt is more localized and from there proceed to surgery. Recovery time in the hospital is 2-3 days and then she can come home. I will be staying with my in-laws while in TN and I think my MIL may be going down with me to Knoxville on the 8th. I am taking my laptop to TN with me so I will be giving updates as I recieve them. So glad she is doing well. From others that have had the LS surgery, they recommend getting some premie onesies while healing - bc the wound is pretty bad ;) |
I can't imagine what she will be like after surgery if she is already like THIS! She is into everything! :p It makes me happy b/c I can see that she is not hurting and does not feel sick. :) I tell her all the time "having a liver shunt is no excuse to be bad, Miss Gingy. Be a good girl for Mommy." I still don't think she gets it... but then again, the spoiling isn't helping either![/QUOTE] If you can't imagine then come to my house and visit with Baxter. Zack says he is more trouble than a child. The only time that Baxter is good is when he is asleep. We are not spoiling, we are loving parents. Where I had the larger dog, he was a lot more laid back as a puppy. Baxter is wired 90% of the time. I sure hope that he calms down. I now put him in time out when he is too out of control. |

Robin, dear, I don't have time right now to go back and reread all the posts but unless something has changed, I think you're probably getting Miss Ginger ready for her trip to UT and her liver shunt surgery. When you get a chance, update on the latest. I know you won't have time to post individual messages so I'll keep up here on your thread. Sending hugs, thoughts, and prayers, TOY & Taffy (aka Debbie...LOL) P.S. We're back home from Taffy's Great Adventure and she's doing great after her spaying. She's totally remembered all her little diva actions here at home. The only difference is she's whimpering a bit when we leave her sight. I guess she's afraid we might leave her again. She has the cutest puppy cut you've ever seen and if/when I can get her still, I'll take some photos. She's a girl on a mission right now...LOL |
We go back to UT in the AM! We are so excited. This past month has flown by and we have our appointment at 10:30 in the morning. I know that tomorrow they are wanting to perform another scintigraphy to see if the shunt is more localized. So maybe surgery tomorrow (?) or Friday. Please keep lil Ginger in your prayers! I will keep you all updated. :D |
