Robin, the doctor's report sounded upbeat and positive to me...at least that was my interpretation. I know there's still quite a way to go but I feel encouraged by what you have written in the update. Know that Ginger and you and Nick are getting lifted up in prayer tonight by lots of folks here on yorkietalk. It just melts my heart to read so many well wishes and caring posts for Ginger and you. Hang in there and try to get some quality rest. After all, Aunt Robin and Uncle Nick have new titles tonight! Congrats on the new addition! |

your a good breeder to take the puppy back. it is sad though that people get a puppy and when things go bad and they cost money they put them down. people should not get dogs if they cant take care of their health needs. dogs are like children they are going to get sick and they are going to get hurt. im learning about liver shunt as well and worried my little one might have it. and if she does she is going to get the best care out their. im going to give her whatever chance she has no matter what the cost she is my baby. good luck with everything and i will be praying for you and your baby. |
Robin, I can't get little Ginger off my mind. How is she today? Have you had the doctor's report yet? I know you're swamped so I'll just catch your updates here unless I get too impatient. Then you know I'll PM or call...LOL |
Update I am picking her up at 6pm! :D :D :D She did well last night off of her fluids and dextrose, so they feel more comfortable with her coming home. :D :D I have so much to do to finish getting ready for her. My house is a wreck (I always feel like this when we leave town and come back) because I haven't had time to do much here but that's not a priority (although it does make me feel like a bad wifey sometimes). So if anyone has any particular questions that they think I should add to my list when I have my consult, please speak up! Thank you guys SO MUCH for your prayers! Of course, I will be updating with photos and videos of her as much as I can. You all will be so Ginger-ed out (if that's possible!). ;) hehe |

And, my advice is to forget your house for now. It will still be there when you have time. Lol. Take care.... |
Glad Ginger is coming home to her Mommy and Daddy :D:D:D |
Robin Im so sorry this happened. My heart is happy though that you are the type person to go all out to save this pup. You will be in my thoughts and prayers daily. Those videos just broke my heart. I have heard and read alot about shunts but I have never witnessed it before. Believe me it left a lasting impression. I now know why there are so many breeders on here that want people to test their dogs before breeding. Gosh Im sorry. |
Good luck Ginger! We're all pulling for you here in Pa.! You've got a great Mommy too! |
payslee says to give sissy a special hug from her and we hope she gets well very very soon. |
Those videos are so heartwrenching! Such a tiny little angel! Do you even know how special you are?!! This world is a better place with you in it!!! God Bless You!! |

Woo Hoo! I've been playing football (LOL) and just now got back to check the Ginger status. Hooray! From what I gather, you're at your in-laws tonight and then home with Ginger tomorrow, right? I hope you get some rest before you start the journey home. Such good news about your litle one! I'll catch you tomorrow. I've just plumb tuckered out from TN Titans football. We went into overtime against the Steelers but lost. However, considering they were last year's Super Bowl champs and we were at their house, going into overtime is a win in my book! The comical thing around here tonight was Taffy's reactions when we scored. I think she thought we needed medical attention...LOL Just wait unti the TN Vols play...LOL |
2 Attachment(s) Debbie, you are correct. I am at my in laws tonight and will be driving home tomorrow (its a 4 hour drive). I will be up every 3-3 1/2 hours to feed her (which she HATES so its NOT fun at all). I have attached 2 pictures. Sorry they are kind of blurry, she would not sit still! :D What a typical puppy. This is a video of the doctor and a student showing me how to syringe feed her. Its a struggle every 3 hours. She hates it. I am hoping that she will love the dry food more than this canned stuff. |
