tiny yorkie jump down from chair!!!! hi everyone, my yorkie is 1 year old n she weight 3lbs i put her on chair n watch her just now she was so calm and i dint expect her to jump down from the chair in a sudden excitement. she cried so painfully for a few seconds n couldn't move after she stop crying i tried to put her on standing position but she is weak n her leg is shaking after a few try, she started to walk back.. she seems quit normal but how can i make sure that she dint broke or hurt her legs? should i take her to the vet? im so worry, please help me :( thanx |
sorry she hurt herself. The only way to definitely tell if its broken or not is to go to the vet. they will x-ray it to make sure. |

do u think i should x-ray her even if she walk quit normal? |

with her small size I would definitely bring her in, she could have a hair line fracture. The vet will make the call on whether he thinks they should xray or not. |
i would bring her in too:animal-pa |

I would take her to the vet, just to be sure. It isn't just a broken leg I would be worried about. There could be other injuries that you don't even know about. I hope everything is just fine, but I'd rather be safe than sorry!!! Let us know what happens.... |
I am so sorry your little yorkie was hurt. I would take her to the vet ASAP. She could have hurt herself internally . I hope she is ok. :( |
Since she is so small, I would take her in just to have her checked out. Hope she is ok. |
I hope she is doing ok. The vet can make sure she is ok. |
i had just bring angel to the vet the vet said that she should be ok since there is no pain on her and she can actually walk quit proper.. all i need to do now is watch her closely to make sure that she dint get worse hope she will be fine thanks for all  |

I am so glad that she did not break a bone when she jumped off the chair. Please be very careful in the future and do not allow her to ever jump off furniture because the next time you might not be so lucky. There have been many members here that have had this happen and then their pup needed surgery to correct the break which is very expensive. I would suggest that you invest in either a ramp or stairs and train her to use them when getting off furniture. It could very well save you from the pain and expense of a broken bone. :( |
