Chester has a ball on his back! Help? My yorkie Chester is 4 months old. I just noticed this yesterday, he had a bump on his back. It felt somewhat like a marble. It wasn't as hard as a marble but it was the size. When you touch it it moves and it doesn't hurt him. I don't know what it is. I don't know if I took him to the vet if they'd just tell me it's nothing. Do any of you have the same problem or did have the same problem? If so what did you do about it? :(:confused::confused: |

Are you sure its not a tick? Take him to the doctor for gods sake. |

My English Cocker has a few of these balls. As long as you can lift them through the skin, i was told that they were non-cancerous fatty tumors. I just need to keep an eye on them and if they start growing quickly, then he needs to see her to do a needle biopsy. Or if they start impeding her walking around, like being under the arm pit, I need to bring her in. It is up to you whether you bring your boy to the vet. Let me know what happens. |

Has he had a shot recently in that spot? They can get a lump at the site of the injection pretty commonly. Pixie had that and I took her to the vet and she said it was just a reaction at the site of her last vaccine and they don't charge to look at it and make sure that's what it is. You can call and find out where the last shot was given if you don't remember. It can take awhile for it to go down. Pixie's as pretty big for a month. Please keep us posted and try not to worry. |

my dog has a bite with a raise red bump on her left thigh (back leg); i took her to the vet yesterday and they saw her really quick; they said it's not tick bite but some kind of bug or insect bite; so they told me to give her benadryl; i dont think it hurts because when i press down she doesnt seem to be in pain; it's not itching because i dont see her biting or itching it ; if it was mosquito bite she will itch it; i am concerned because it's red and it's raised like there is something under the surface. does anyone have any insight? thanks |

Mine have got these after their shots. They seem to stay a good 3 weeks or more. if its from his shots it will go away. just keep checking it, if it gets bigger then have it checked. |

Bailey had a bump too after early shots. I called the doctor and she confirmed that it was common. However, she said that she would mark Bailey's file - and it hasn't happend since. So, maybe you can get some answers by calling your vets office first. If they think the bump needs to be examined, then you should go in. |

His bump has been going down but it's still there. |

Did you ever take him to the vet to have it checked? |
