intestinal peritonitis I think my dog may have intestinal peritonitis - she has been shot with a small caliber 22. I can't really afford to take her to the vet, so he has advised to give her antibiotics until Sunday night. If she is not improving on Monday morning, he wants me to bring her in because he feels that if she isn't better by then, she could have intestinal peritonitis. Has anyone had any experience with this? How much does the treatment cost? She weighs about 25 pounds. I would appreciate any advice that you guys could offer. Thanks, Marsanne |
awe. im so sorry ure going through this. i really don't know how much it costs at that point but to give u an idea..my puppy has a piece of a nylabone "healthy edible" stuck in his intestine. my vet warned me that if it doesnt come off till' wednesday; my puppy needs to have surgery to get it removed. as it will become intestinal peritonitis. if we remove the piece before she said the whole thing would cost me around 2.000 dollars and just like you, i do not have the money. i am praying my louis gets rid of it by himself :/. i do have help from someone though and that was lucky. i may advice u to apply at carecredit.com. they have a program that lets u pay the surgery in quotes every month. lets say ur surgery costs $2.000. you'll have to pay 333 in 6 months..its just a help for people who cannot afford it. i didnt qualify but i got a friend who would help me and im so thankful. i really wish the best of luck for u because i am in ur shoes right now. i know how it feels to not know what to do and see ur baby hopeless. best of wishes for u and ur baby. |
