$13.39 at Amazon? You pay $20 plus at Vitamin Shoppe? Looks like the same item.

NO,we don't have a "Whole Foods".

You must live in a bigger city where you have more options.

One more question tonite, what kind of treats do you give yours? Autumn loves treats and hasn't had any for WEEKS. :(

i use their kibble for treats and they get just as excited and with all the probs you are having i would do that as well until you get to the bottom of what is going on

are you doing wet or kibble? wet is probably better if they think kidney issue or soak the kibble so more moisture

I presume you mean her hard food.......as a treat she would not be and IS NOT excited about that! Was hoping for something else I could give her. :(

Today I tried soaking it........she ate it that way, so that's good. Tonite before bed she nibbled on it hard. I always have food available for her to snack on. She doesn't eat much at one time.

As far as the water, I know I asked my vet this. We have a culligan water softener. The water outside from the hose is well water. I haven't given her that for months on end. I heard it's not a good thing to drink water from a hose.

lol yes kibble is hard food -- well she will get use to eating it hard or no treats right now until you get her health under control for now she needs to have limited diet

No, but my older Yorkie (15 yo) was diagnosed with K.D. 2 years ago. Has the Vet started your dog on Hills Prescription Diet K/D? That's what Chewy has been eating for 2 yrs (K/D canned food) and not only does the vet think he got over the K.D., but Chewy just loves the taste of the food. Now my new pup is wanting me to feed him K/D...he loves the taste too (so I give him a little taste occasionally). I highly recommend that food - it saved Chewy's life 2 yrs ago. Good luck.

Our last dog had to eat K/D and loved it room temp but hated it cold out of the fridge.

That's fantastic!!!!!!!!

My vet does carry a lot of varieties, so I have not heard of that. Autumn was on ID for a short period of time., then I switched her to hamb/rice.

Autumn Update
 
:animal36Thought I would touch base regarding Autumn. I started her on the organic pumpkin and DDS plus Pro-Biotic last week. She has only vomited once since and no diarrhea. No blood in poo either that I can see. Before there was no question that there was a lot of blood there. I ALSO noticed she is NOT scratching as much.....ONCE in a while, but nothing like before. I don't know if it's because of the kidney food or what. She's still on the baytril and will be until the 20th, so it should be a true test what happens once she's off for a few days. Vet wanted blood work done on the 16th......I thought that was "nuts", so I cancelled that appt and re-scheduled for the later part of the month. Told them I didn't want her blood work tested while still on meds.......WHYwould I want to do that? Anyway, things seem better. I just hope the next urine test won't have crystals and I HOPE the Bun will be normal.

My 2 year old 3lb yorkie is having trouble with her pacreas and was put on antiboitics and enzmes and w/d food. She has had trouble in the past and as soon as I put her back on regular yorkie food, it comes back. I finally took her to a holistic vet and he gave her homepatics,probotics and DGL. he said she will have to be on raw food which I will have to learn to fix (I will do anything to help my Sissie). Has anyone had to do this also??? She is doing better so far, but still on the w/d for now.
thanks for cooking tips anyone has.

My!....I just read this whole thread and I just wanted to say I hope you are able to find out what is ailing your Autumn soon ....Your frustration is certainly understandable.....

It looks like your getting a lot of helpful advise, I hope you continue to update us, I wish you and Autumn well, hang in there and give Autumn hugs and kisses.....

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!! This certainly has been an ongoing experience for me/us. Just taking it a day at a time and yes some really good advice. I'm still debating on whether or not to give her enzymes.......(plant enzymes I guess. I'll see how she does in the next week.

Do you mean pancreatitis? We do have experience with that.
