Rosco has pooping problems again :confused:About a month ago I posted on here about Rosco having thick mucusy poop. I took him to the vet and his GI was inflammed again. This is the second time. The vet gave him antibotics that Rosco took for a month. While he was on the med. his poop seemed much better. Well, now he is finished the med. and he is pooping thick mucusy yellowish orange looking poop again. What is causing this?????? |
I have no idea what would continually cause the mucous. Did the vet perform a fecal exam. Zeus had a tapeworm once and he too had mucous. Hope someone on here has a better answer for you. Hope Rosco gets better soon. |
I hope someone answers soon too because I am problems with Moses. I gave him some different dog food as a treat last Saturday. He went back on his regular food Sunday. But ever since I have been faced with bouts of poop gone wild. His first will be fairly firm and formed, but then he will go 2 - 4 more times and it is very thick and mucosy. I put him on rice and chicken yesterday, gave him a dose of Kaopectate but last night he went 4 times. He eats, drinks, plays and acts as if nothing is bothering him, but something isn't right. He did not do this before Saturday. Any suggestion is welcome. I am calling the vet today to see what they say. |
Clarence had that problem & the vet medicated him for it. Well it started again so I boiled boneless skinless thighs with no seasoning. When they were done I took them out to cool & chop. I cooked brown rice in the broth, mixed it all together with rinsed canned green beans. We fed him that for about 4 days & he has been cleared up for over a week. He loved it...crammed his little face in the bowl every meal! Phew, the little guy is almost 13 & every time he coughs or sneezes & worry. |
I understand. That's what I did yesterday and he scarfed it right up. But no change yet, it may be too soon to take effect. He had the chicken mixture 2x yesterday and then this morning. I could kick myself for giving him that dogfood as a treat, but this has gone on so long, it can't still be the dogfood. So, I am waiting for a call from the vet. Let's hope she can tell me something over the phone. |
I feed Rosco boiled chicken quite often and he still has the mucusy poops and his breath really stinks. When he was on the meds. his breath was much better so whatever it is affects his breath. He eats good and is very active. If it wasn't for the nasty poops you won't think there is anything wrong with him. Yes, they have done a fecal. The vet says there is alot of bacteria which is causing his GI to be inflammed. I don't want him to be on meds the rest of his life. I just wish I knew what is causing GI to be inflammed?????????? |

I am making it worse all the way around. His dry food is Nat. Balance duck and pot. What about turkey? Don't mean to be dumb, but what is cod.? |
I'm with you there. I am piggybacking on your post because I have been dealing with diarreha in Moses for the last couple days. I went to the store to look for a different food and came away bewildered. I did buy Taste of the Wild salmon flavor; of course they won't touch it. But from what I've read in the last couple months, it's trial, trial, trial and error. |
