Glad to hear the surgery went well. Prayers for continued great health. |
So Nina is home now and last night was certainly rough! We brought her home, fed her, and tried to soothe her for being in the crate. She was crying so much, not out of pain, but anxiety. Poor thing. She wet herself right there in the crate, twice!!! She has never done that before. I think she was just so out of it and upset with the whole unpleasant experience. We were so lucky that she only peed on the non-operated leg!! So we had to sponge bathe her twice and I paged the surgeon at 12am. She reassured me that it happens sometimes and to just watch her and make sure that it doesn't continue. Alex and I took "sleeping" shifts, one had to be up to watch her all night! Alex got the lesser end of the deal and is asleep right now! Nina is doing much better, no more accidents! But boy does she hate the e-collar. I bought some "chill out" oil, an organic herbal aromatherapy oil that smells wonderful! I rubbed it behind her little ears and just a dab on her bed. It really works!! The minute I started to massage her ears, she stopped whining! And now she's fast asleep in her crate. Thanks everyone again for your love and support, we sure do appreciate it! Just wanted to provide an update :) Have a wonderful weekend everyone! I think I will be taking some time off from school/work this monday tuesday to be with her. She needs to be spoiled with love and attention, even if it's just me sitting here next to her crate while she sleeps! (for the first fews days anyway :)) Thanks yorkie talkers :) Lots of love to you and your furbabies!!!:animal36:aimeeyork |
I so gald that she's on the mends. It will get easier and better, I promise you. :) We pretty much held Hot Rod most of the time that we were home and awake. I would bring his crate up to our bedroom and put it so he could see me. He finally would settle down and go to sleep. He did wake me up a few nights. Those were rough but once I held him close, he settled right down. It's amazing how they have us wrapped around their little paws. :) Give Nina a big hug from all of us. :) |
Thank you Hot Rod's Mommy :) Nina is doing alright. I know, she has just been laying here on her little bed all cozied up in her blankies. She finally stopped all the whining yesterday, but now she seems a little more depressed. Poor baby. She really hates the cone! I took today off to be home with her. She hasn't really wanted to move around too much. I took off her pain patch today per Dr.'s instructions. I did give her a little bit of the pain med, which may be making her a little sedated. But her incision looks good and we've been following all the instructions, so far so good! Boy the first couple nights were rough though!! She was crying all night long, and finally I had to just carry her around our apartment, walking through all the rooms back and forth for like 20min until she finally calmed down!! Just like a real baby :) Poor baby. I am so glad that is over! I just felt so bad for her. It's so funny that you say that, they do have us wrapped around their little paws!! But we love them for it, don't we?! Hahahaha. We love our babies so much :) Hugs to you and Hot Rod too! |
