Shaking and hiding Lucas all of a sudden started shaking and hiding under my bed this afternoon. He has never done this before and when he finally came out he was cowering under the furniture trying to hide. I'm worried. Should I take him to the vet? I know these symptoms are pretty vague but I don't know what to do :( |
Check his little butt, and make sure he doesn't have a dragger. Is he teething? How old is he? Check his gums, make sure they are pink. Palpate him all over to see if he has pain anywhere. Will he eat a treat? If ever in doubt, going to the vet is good. :) |
I know this will sound so ridiculous, but my Toby does this if there's a fly or mosquito in the house. He cowers wherever he can. Also, if he has a dragger. :D |
What is a dragger? |

My Maggie did this when she had a foxtail in her ear. No scratching, shaking of the head, just hiding and shaking. For her it is a pain/fear response. So check ears, mouth, nose, privates, spine, etc. If you find nothing and the hiding continues I would take the dog to the vet. |
Morgan does this when its raining out or when a thunderstorm is coming. she developed this behavior shortly after turning 2 years old for some reason. She'll also do it if she hears a high pitched sound like the smoke alarm, or CO2 monitor alarm. |
Suzi has donr this before too. Only when something has spooked her . Try to comfort your little one by holding him and petting him . After , you have checked and made certain nothing is physically wrong. No poo stuck , or anything in his ears, mouth , or paws. He needs , TLC . It just breaks my heart when it happens to Suzi. :( |
Thanks everyone! Thanks so much everyone for your responses. My first message was a little vague and rushed because I was worried. Anyhow, I took him to the little clinic here and had him all checked out. They did a urinealysis and the vet couldn't find anything wrong. 87$ later, but at least I feel better, and it seems like Lucas does too. He is giving kisses and has stopped shaking. Thanks again for all the responses, wow I love YT it's always a wonderful lifeline. |

Have you changed his diet? We had the same problem with one of our boys and finally found out we had bought some new treats with carob in them and it was to much caffine for him. Stopped giving him the treats and the problem stopped. |
