Help! well, my baby just got spayed on monday the 27th, and she was groggy and everything seems okay. She doesn't even try to lick at the sugery site anymore which is fantastic, but she's found ways to itch it, by dragging her body across the carpet, and I'm slightly afraid that she'll pull the stitches before they are removed on the 10th. So, is there anyway I can prevent the itching? so far I've been applying vitamin E oil to the site and letting her lay on her favorite blanket, but after a while it begins to itch again, and I'm just completly at loss as to what to do now. |
You can do Vaseline, lots of it, does not hurt ... and may last longer than the oil. Another trick is to do the Vaseline and dress her on a "onesie" for babies, it will keep her away from the friction a little... it should be all gone in about 10 days and stitches will come off on the 6th... only 6 more days to go then ! XOXO |
Okay, I'm going to try the baby onesie, and the vasaline, it just bothers me because I know it itches her, and she's my baby! |
When we have cuts ... they itch when the healing starts... i am sure it is the same... You are a great momma... !!!! ;) |
But thank you so much for the advise! I never thought to try and put Vaseline on it. And haha thanks! I was totally petrified when I was told she had to get spayed but she's back to her bouncy self or at least she was this morning and when I came back from school. |
