please help, I'm scared Hi it's been a long time since I have been here.... (Working full time now) I work at a day camp, and I must have stepped in some sort of gum or minty smelling candy. I went to see what chewy was doing and he was licking the bottom of my shoe! I smelled it thinking I might have stepped in crap and instead I smell something minty. Will he get sick? Should I worry? He has a testy system to begin with. We never give him ANY people food. It figures my husband is away tonight. Anyone know if this is ok???? |
Scared Just keep a close watch on him and if he starts acting weird, call the vet ASAP. Hopefully, it was only candy or gum. My dog is always checking the bottoms of our shoes, and I try to keep him away from them, but it is not always easy. |
Just keep a close eye on him, but I wouldnt get to concerned. It probably wasn't enough to hurt him. Our little Chloe once ate some gum, and she was prefectly fine. |

Sugar free gum with Xylitol is very toxic to dogs. Since you have no way of knowing what type of gum you stepped in, I would call your emergency vet asap and see what they recommend. Is Chewing Gum Toxic to Your Pet? |
