Thought he was a goner... Last night I took Brodie outside and immediately he collapsed and stopped breathing. His tongue was sticking out of his mouth and was pale. I thought for sure he was dead. Hubby took him to the emergency animal clinic while giving him mouth to snout breaths in the car. They did blood tests and xrays on him with no real result. They think he went into some sort of anaphylactic shock. DH definitely saved his life but now I am scared this will happen again. He stayed the night at the hospital and I have him home with me now...he seems normal other than just a little weak. Has this happened to anyone elses yorkie? His blood work came back ok as did a glucose test. The vet did say he had an enlarged heart, but that wouldn't have had anything to do with the shock he went into. |
Oh my, how terrifying! I've no idea what might have happened, but I'll keep your baby in my prayers! |
How scary! Thank heavens your baby is ok. I have no idea what could have happened to him. Any way he could have been shocked somehow? Wires outside etc. Poor baby. Glad to hear he seems fine now. Hope it continues and he's ok. |
Prayers for your baby....Bump |
How scary. Glad he is home and hubby acted so fast. Could he have been stung by a bee? |
wow... did eat anything poisonous? never heard of such thing but i hope it never happens again!!! |
wow.. how weird! Thank heavens for your DH! Good to hear he is doing better. BTW.. Welcome to yorkie talk! |
Had you or a neighbor had lawn treatment done? Sometimes the company's that do lawn treatments use products that are detrimental to little animals & don't let animal owners know that small animals can die if they walk on the lawn within a certain amount of time. Even crop dusting with winds blowing in the wrong direction can leave residuals on grass that are the level of our little ones. Hope you figure it out. I hope your little Brodie is doing better. |
Oh my! How scary! I hope he's ok!:( |
