Chloe is vomiting white foamy liquid Chole was in bed with us and wanted down so I put her down off the bed and she started throwing up a white foamy liquid. Shortly before that she was playing a running around like crazy. There was no signs of anything wrong before. She has thrown up maybe five or six times and now is not really interested in playing or anything to eat. Any ideas what might be going on? |
She is now a little more playful and has started drinking water and she has ate a few pieces of honey smacks cereal. She loves those. I have also given her a little sugar water and she seems to be feeling better. She just had a bowel movement and there was no loose stool. I guess she may have just had an upset stomach or found something to eat that she wasn't supposed to. |
Buddy use to throw up every now and then. I just called it puppy tummy, cause I could never figure out why. Glad to hear she's doing better! |
Perhaps her tummy was just a little too empty? Sometimes they will throw up in the early morning if they've gone too long without food. |
Most likely it’s from her running around and being very excited. Lola has the same thing happen if she runs like crazy around the house. |
She is back to her normal self today. Took her for grooming at her vets and she came back full of life and looking like a million bucks. It just worries me so much when she has an unexplained episode like last night. Thanks for all the suggestions. I know when I have something like that happens I have help at the touch of the keyboard. Thanks a bunch!! Chloe's Momma |
I have worked at a vets office for a while and that is most likely just tummy acid. She will be fine. But check with the vet and make sure. Good Luck!!! |
My little girl Sophie will do that once in a while, the vet gives me liquid Famotadine(pepcid) to keep on hand if she starts throwing up acid. I notice it tends to happen when she over eats, as I free feed. |
Just an update on Chloe. Today she was feeling bad again and she was still not eating normally so I took her to her vet and she had to stay in the hospital. The vet said that she had low blood sugar and low protein. The vet said that she wanted to keep her and give her an IV and to test her for a liver shunt. They had planned to do that since she ate the lily but had put it off for a while. She decided that since she had her there that it would be a good time to do it. Her liver enzymes were normal today and have never been high except for when she ate the lily. I am very concerned about her. Any other suggestions as to what it may be? She really hasn't eaten much since Sunday when she vomited. She is still playful but just not interested in eating. |
so sorry to hear Chloe is not feeling well...it is so hard when you need to leave them in the hospital... I am sure the vets will figure out what is wrong... Thinking of you and Chloe... |
sending prayers your way... |
Sick Puppy If a dog gets a hold of a toad it can make them very sick and they usually will froth at the mouth. I guess anything poison could do it also. |
Hope Chloe is feeling better soon. |
Just spoke with the vet and she said that Chloe will still not eat anything but that she is acting like she is feeling better. She had to force feed her to get something into her to do the BAT. Said that they worked late last night and they decided to order pizza and that Chloe whined and cryed for their pizza last night. I know the pizza probably would taste better than the dog food but that has never been a problem before. We have been guilty of giving her a bite of things before but she has always ate her food too. I just don't understand what is going on with her. |
We just got home from picking Chloe up from the vet. She is feeling better and her blood sugar levels are normal today. She did eat for the vet but only after she warmed her food in the microwave and then spoon fed her. The vet thinks that most of her problem is that she is a spoiled little girl. We will get the results from the BAT next week. It is a long time to have to wait for results but I guess it can't be helped. Please remember her in your prayers that she doesn't have a liver shunt. Thank you all for your thoughtfulness and prayers. Chloe's Mom |
