Bulls eye from tick.. I was playing with Miso a few minutes ago and found a bulls eye/rash (size of a penny) on his belly and it happens to be where a tick bit him. I did some research and found out it could possibly be lyme disease, and am freaking out. I'm not sure how to make out of this situation since he's acting like his usual self. Should I wait until monday (His vet is closed til then) or rush him to the e-vet? ***He's also using front line but it's not helping..*** I don't have any pictures of the rash due to being at work. Please help!!!!!!!! |
The research I have seen doesn't seem to indicate a time-sensitive emergency. I think you're okay to wait until Monday, but do go then. Our vet said that Frontline hasn't been as effective in our area lately and switched us to K9Advantix. However, I recently found out about an ingredient in it that I'm concerned about, so I'm doing some more research. |

Thank you so much! I just won't let him out in the backyard until I bring him to the vet on Monday. |
A bulls-eye rash is the first sign of Lymes. It is great that you found it now. It is in its early stages and can be treated. Andromeda has Lymes, and got it on Frontline. Needless to say I have stopped using Frontline; because of this and the pesticides that are in it. I am concerned about the pesticides degrading her immune system further. Please keep us udated on her vet visit. Best wishes ...... |
Lymes My Yorkie had this also. I took him to the vet and he put him on an anitbiotic and gave him a Lymes vac. shot. |
