His "lipstick" is broken! I have a nuetered male and a female in heat. I know...I know...when am I getting her spayed? My husband always said we couldn't afford it. Now we in the middle of a divorce and I really can't afford it now. Anyway, Bentley, the nuetered male has actually locked with her several times. She is shamelessly wagging her tail in front of him constantly. His penis tip has been out for 24 hours and won't go back in. It looks so raw!!! poor baby. How can I help him?:( |
Oh yeah...I've had both dogs for several years and this has never happened before. He has never even actually locked up with her before this season. She is 5 and he is 7. |

You can lubricate it with KY jelly and gently bring the skin back up. |
Holy cow:eek:..I didn't know that happened if a male was neutered:eek: |
First clean it and then you can put some baby oil on it to lubricate it after that... then try pulling the skin over it.... otherwise.... a trip to the vet. ;) Good luck!! |

Try to put it back in. If that doesn't work, go to the vet immediately. They need to be separately until she is no longer in heat because allowing them to do that could cause injury if nobody is there to hold them still. |
I never heard of it so i have no words of wisdom... Please let us know how it got resolved.... And poor male.... he must be so uncomfortable !!! |
This has happened to Stedman before. My hubby (I cannot do it as I will totally freak out, thinking that I am causing him pain) put him in the sink in WARM (not hot) water and used a mild soap and gently worked it back into the skin. Be very gentle though. If it has been out for 24 hours I can imagine that he is in a good amount of pain. Please help him ASAP, and if YOU can't...please get him to the vet right away  |

I have also heard you can sprinkle some sugar on and that may help. Being out for that long will make it dry making it more painful and harder to go back in, the sugar adds moisture. |
