Giant Hogweed Hi everyone, i'm new here. I have two yorkies and i was walking them at a park today and i think they may have come into contact with some giant hogweed. as we were walking along, we came up to a sign that read 'warning: hogweed. keep out'. we were walking along that area the whole time before we came up to the warning sign! apparently, these things will cause severe dermatitis via ultra-photosensitivity. the thing is, it was a really grey day today. i know my dogs didn't eat any of the hogweed, but i'm paranoid that they may have been walking on fallen hogweed leaves and/or have touched them with their noses by sniffing them. what kind of reactions should i look out for? what should i do?? please help. |
I don't know anything about hogweed but signs of dermatitis could be itchiness, redness, swelling, welts, rash, pruritis etc.... |
what the world is hog weed? |

check this video: My oldest yorkie had diarrhea last night, although she seems to be fine today. She ran out of energy quicker than usual this afternoon during her walk. No sign of any kind of rash though. Am i being too paranoid? |
Looks like it could be serious...and evident immediately if any contact was made. Giant Hogweed - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia |
