We had a little scare yesterday... Gracie and I were on our front porch playing. All of a sudden my neighbor let her Cocker Spaniel out who came charging for Gracie. I screamed "Bo! No!" I don't know if poor Gracie was more scared from me screaming or Bo. He didn't touch her but she ran to the corner of the porch just shaking and yelping. Scared me to death!!! We are now putting a picket fence between our houses. It did scare poor little Gracie. I am trying to be very careful with who/what is around her right now. I noticed if you approach her without warning-abruptly or when she isn't expecting you she will put her tail between her legs and tinkle just a few little drops. Not when she is excited-only when you approach her too fast and scare her. I feel so bad. I am hoping that we can put all of that out of her mind. She didn't act that way at all when we brought her home. It made me cry because this happened at all. |
Awwwww, she should get over it. How old is she? Thank god nothing serious happened to her!!!! |
Poor lil' Gracie is still a baby and Bo was probably thinking she was a toy...!!! Glad to hear that you were able to prevent an unfriendly encounter even if you did scare her, too!;) Bo probably just wanted to play but, when you're babies are little you just can't take any chances, too! Good job Momma!:D |

Puppy bed A car seat A little Rascal Box Potty Box A harness and leash Sling Some more XXS dresses Oh, and Mommy needs a new camera!!! |
Oh I can't wait to see pictures!!! Those are great items to get for her! I'm trying to re-train Bailey on the Rascal potty box. Your list will never end with your new little bundle of joy! I always find an excuse to spend money on Bailey ;). At 11 weeks, she's still small enough to not let that have a permanent scar on her. I would make sure to socialize her around other dogs and she'll be just fine... :) Quote:

Hmmmmm well it's been 5 years since he was a puppy so I'm guessing a little bit here but I THINK it was about 2 weeks that he was COMPLETELY 100% trained on them. However, he caught on real quick. Yorkies are so smart! If you give them the credit they deserve, they will pick up on anything you try to teach them very quickly. I would hold him and carry him around or keep him confined to the couch with me and then every time I would set him on the floor to play or do ANY type of physical activity (or even to eat) I would put him on the pad and say "duties". Sometime I would let him play but with VERY limited space. Every 5 or 10 min. I would put him back on the pad and say "duties". I don't know if that was the right way to do it, but that's how I trained Bailey... :) He did have some mistakes, but after about 2 weeks he had it down pat. Because he's a male he misses, which is why i'm now trying to switch him over to the Rascal dog. We'll see how this goes... |
