Chloe's sick:( On Friday Chloe ate a leaf from my peace lily in the house. Come to find out this is on the bad list of plants. On Monday we took her to the vet because she just wasn't acting normal, she had no energy and was very disinterested in everything. The vet told us her liver enzymes were a little elevated and he decided to keep her overnight to try and flush her system of the toxins from the plant. We brought her home this afternoon and now she seems to be running a fever. She is eating and drinking, she has had a bowel movement and has gone to pee many times. Should I just give her some recovery time or should I be worried about this? Is there something I can do to get her fever down? Your help is greatly appreciated. |
What is her temperature? |
It is now 102 degrees but her belly and tounge still feels really warm. I know 102 is normal but she still feels extremely warm. It has came down some thanks god! |
The peeing is probably from the fluids they were giving her. Maybe you can call an ER vet to see what you can do to bring down the temperature. I hope she feels better soon. |
Thank you, I hope she feels better too. It breaks my heart to see her sick. |
Plant poisoning is extremely dangerous. Have her liver enzymes come done? How is the vet managing that? I would probably insist that the vet keep her (at a 24 hour facility so she is never left alone) and keep an eye on her liver enzymes. Sadly we just had a devastating event on YT when a little Yorkie just couldn't come back from plant poisoning. At the very least, please call your vet and tell them she is not quite right. Did they put her on supplements? |

I'm praying for her, I hope she's ok! HUGS to you and your baby!!! :) |
We just got home from the vet and Chloe is doing much better. The vet rechecked her liver enzymes and they were much better than when they released her yesterday. The vet said that was great news. She had no signs of a fever when we were there so he could not figure that out. Told me to just keep an eye on her and give her a few days to start to feel better. I really think she is on the road to recovery. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. |

ask vet about doing milk thistle and same for cleansing of liver support - my friend had this happen to her bull mastiff and used milk thistle - juiced zucchini an celery and put on food the pulp and juice and his liver enzymes got back to normal fast - zucchini cleanses the liver and celery cleanses the uriniary tract |
