Missing Max I need some suggestions please. As some of you may know, my 14 month Yorkie, Max, passed away on Monday 6/1. I still have at home, Mazie a 13 yr old English Cocker Spaniel, Misty a 2 1/2 year old Yorkie - Max's mom, and a rescued 9 month old yorkie who I have only had 2 months, Mikey. My problem is Misty and Mazie. Misty keeps walking up and down the hall and seems to be looking for Max. She's not eating very much. I offer her treats and she just turns her nose at them. I have blocked all the dogs in my room at night so I think that she's sleeping but always seems to be a wake when I open my eyes. Mazie just mopes. She lays on the couch during the day and doesn't seem to have much energy. Mikey even trys to tempt her to play, but nothing doing. I put her outside to go potty which she does but instead of wandering around the yard, she comes right back in the house and lays down. I have given each of them one of Max's toys and Mazie has it under to face when she lays down and Misty seems to just pace some more. I know they are missing Max, heck I miss Max desperately. Anyone have some suggestions as to what I can do to help these babies? |

sorry for your loss =(...i know how hard it is.. its like loosing a part of you... I actually went through the same thing we had a cat that grew up with my 1 1/2 yr old yorkie and one day she was gone... he got exactly like that.. he wouldnt eat he didnt want to play.. I was more worried about the eating part.. what I did i went to Vons well any supermarket will do.. and bought him meat gerbers and he actually ate =) yey.. but it took him almost 2 weeks to be himself again.... even now there still times that i think he still misses our cat lexy.. since he will go to her old bed and just play with it... after a yr.. i finally got him a new playmate which is another girl this time is a yorkie.. =) i wish I would of done it sooner.. cuz that brought him and all of us.. a lil bit more happiness. eventhough our kitty lexy will always be in our hearts.. and we still miss her :(I hope this helps..and good luck =) :aimeeyork |

Thank you for the link. I just printed the article off and read it. I am positive that animals greive just as us humans do. Right now Misty is curled up on Max's blanket and Mazie has one of his toys under her chin. Someone came to the door and neither of them barked which is VERY unusual. It's just gonna take time for us to realize and accept that Max is gone. A friend offered me one of her baby Yorkies. At this point, I feel that that would be like replacing him. I told her thanks, but we aren't ready for another puppy. Maybe later this year. But I really wanted to thank you for the article. |
So sorry for your loss. :( I wish I knew what to tell you. How did dear Max pass, if you don't mind me asking? What a shame. |
