Vomiting on vaction!!! Please help My family and I came back to where we are oringally from to visit family, We did bring our baby Snickers ,We have been here 7days already and last night he started vomiting..and once early this morning like at 5am. He is an inside dog but since my father in law has a new house and baby he doesnt want any dogs inside, so during the day he is in the backyard and at nite or when we leave we bring him in his crate. He had been eaten well since we have been here. same food. and then out of no where vomit. He did get a bath yesterday. and yesterday mu family was outside bbqing so im not sure if he got to raw meat or something, I dont what im suppose to do or where to start? what could it be? We are in a very different atmsophere. we live in the desert and we are visiting family where id humndity in the air,and grass and he alwayd outside. I would of thought if he would have gottan sick it would have been right when we got here. but he was fine, thats why im a little confused? Someone please help me ,im a new mom and ive taken care of a sick baby before.(7 months) |
He may have gotten something in the yard or it may be the heat. Mine gets sick in too much humisity like I do. |
It is definitely possible that he ate something while outside, got ahold of some of the BBQ or simply got stung by a bee or another insect. It is also possible that he is getting overheated by being outside all day since he is not used to this. It is also possible that after a few days of having local water, his system is not liking it - particularly if it is coming from an outside hose as it will contain lead. Try feeding him a little pure pumpkin and see if that helps his tummy. If he keeps vomiting, you'll need to find a vet nearby and get him in asap. |
The water was my first thought too. Plus these little babies can't be out in the heat long. If it were me, I'd try some bottled water. |
snickers throw up agian this morning its been 4 or 5 times now..the last couple of ones where clean-kinda look greenish in his crate..ive given bottle water with ice..he hasnt touch his food yet but he doesnt look down..im going to just keep watching him. any more advice would be great!! |
maybe heat stroke, can you bring him indoors where there is air conditioning? |
Thats alot of vomiting. I think he needs to see a vet |
Please take him to a vet.Puppies can get dehydrated very quickly.Give his stomach a rest for a few hours and then offer small amts of H2O at a time. |
with the amount that he's throwing up and not drinking and the heat, i would take him to see a vet. he can go downhill very quickly. even if he doesn't look like it now. one min. he could look ok and the next min. he could be sick. |

I think a vet visit is a very good idea, they can get sick and go downhill very quickly, it could of been from outside or a change of water. I give chester bottled water when we are away at home, they have sensitive tummies most of them anyways, good luck |
