Falling over? Curly Mac just started doing some weird thing but she doesn't seem "ill". She seems to fall over while walking. Just a few minutes ago, she came over to sit by me and fell to her side before she got to her spot. Then I put her on the floor and she walked a few steps and fell over. I kinda freaked so I took her outside and let her run, she did take off running and didn't lose her balance but when she stopped running, just walked, she did it again. WTF??? Anyone ever seen this? |
It sounds like vet time for a bile acids test and maybe some other blood work. |
possible low blood sugar, offer Nutrical or kayro syrup...... It also could be an inner ear infection, has she been swimming or bathed lately when water could have gotten in the ears????? A deff vet visit is indicated.... Good Luck and Keep us posted.... |
Please take her to the vet. |
And another possibility: Vestibular Disease in Dogs |
This could realy be serious. I agree with the post saying to offer some Nutrical or kayro syrup. If that does not have her better within the hour, off to the ER vet! |
Definitley needs to be seen by the vet. Hope she is ok. |
Could you please tell us how old our little one is and if she has had any other syptoms besides this?? I would take her to the vets as soon as you can get there. This is nothing to fool with. There are so many things it could be. Please keep us updated. |
she's ok Thanks everyone! I did end up taking her in although she stopped doing that falling over bit. But, it was so strange and worrisome to me so we went ahead over to the vet nearby here. He had a look in her ear and she sure enough had water deep in her ear canal. We had gone swimming yesterday at a pool party my friend had and Curly and her poodle pal swam with us. I thought I had cleaned out her ears pretty good but I guess not. Anyway, doc says she'll be fine, he drained it for her and she about licked him to pieces! I guess he was a yummy vet! So, he said to be sure to put these drops in her ears when she's swimming or bathing so this doesn't happen again. My son had the same problem as a kid...swimmers ear! Here's the best part...NO fee for the visit! He welcomed us to town and said he hopes to see us again. |
