Help Please My mom's baby Buster has been having trouble peeing. He will stand forever and then only a few drops. He was taken to vet 2 weeks ago. He was given Prednisone and Clavamox drops. He is still doing the same thing. He was xrayed but they found no stones. So they treated him for urinary tract infection. Any ideas? He goes back to the vet tomorrow. Thanks in advance. |
I don't know if dogs can get it, but my cat has a condition where he gets crystals that build up in his bladder and cause blockage. They are not stones per say. They are called struvite crystals I beleive. He requires special food and can not have anything else. Not even treats of any kind. They told me it is worse in males. He was diagnosed in 1996 and is alive and well. He turned 15 this year. Make sure this isn't let go too long. They can die from not going pee. |

Was an ultrasound done to check for ammonium urate stones? These really can't be seen on a plain xray. If he is having trouble and the antibiotic didn't help, I'd get him to an internist immediately. |
