Help my Piper Bear My little yorkie piper has been acting funny these past two days. She is a year and 4 months and 4 lbs. She is not spayed. Yesterday she was acting really lazy. Was not playing just laying around the house. I just thought it was because I was off so I was just sitting around the house and she's very attached to me. Today she is having muscle tremors is her back legs. She is urinating but I have not seen her poop today. Mind you she still has accidents in the house but I haven't noticed any poop. Due to the fact that I free feed them I am not sure if she has eaten. When I take her outside she isn't her normal hyper self. Does anyone know what this could be? |
I don't know what it could be but I think I would take her to the vet. It does not sound normal. I hope she will be ok. |
Is she in heat? |
Hi. Is she walking funny at all? If yes, she could have some kind of spinal injury, or something intestinal could be going on. If you could take her temp, and check her gums (color). If her temp is not normal, or if her gum color is off, I'd go to the vet ASAP, the sooner the better. |
update on piper She started doing better Tuesday night. I bought her some wet puppy food to feed her and I had to hand feed her. I also gave her some NutriCal. She was not walking funny. She is doing a lot better and is now eating on her own. I am not sure what was going on with her but that you guys for all helping. |
Im glad shes doing better |
please take her in - are you breeding her? if not get her spay as pyometra can kill a dog and sometimes within 48 hrs and is very serious and some have gotten it at less than 2 years of age - read below and i did not know about this until a girl on our groups yorkie almost died from it and it was quick Pyometra & Uterus Infections in Dogs |
