Sick? I'm just wondering if my pup is getting better or if I should take him to the vet. On Monday he started throwing up and looked weak:(. I bought him some Pedriatic Electrolyte so that he wouldn't dehydrate. The next day he got better, and just threw up some yellow liquid through out the day. I wanted to take him to the vet but other people advised me, that since he was getting better, just to give it another day. On Wednesday he looked all better. He was running around and being his rascal self, but he did throw up a tiny little bit of yellow liquid once. On Thursday, friday, and today the same thing happened. He looks like nothing is wrong with him. He is running around and being himself:Puppy2:. He is almost normal exept he has puked a tiny little bit of liquid, once each day, for three days. Should I be worried and take him to the vet or will he get better:confused:? |
How old and how big is your baby? |
Hi. Is he eating normally and what do you feed him? Does he vomit the liquid before or after eating, and how long before or after? Are his gums pink? |
Sadie has thrown up yellow foam before..but, it was because she hadn't eaten. Is he eating ok? I would be asking these questions to your vet. |
For the last 2 weeks I noticed Jemma has done this. Not every day. It was in the morning only. Yellow foam. I suspected a empty tummy as her eating has decreased to somewhat normal. She was a piggy before. I have not taken her to the vet because it was like 3 times over the past couple of weeks. I try to give her just a teeny bit of food at night. Even if I hand her just a few kibbles of her food. Better. Maybe try a little bit of food or yogurt near bedtime? After reading so much of YT I'm beginning to believe a lot more Yorkies have sensitive tummy's than we previously thought. Carol and Jemma |
My little boy, Max, is 11 1/2 months old and about 5lbs. He's all better! He hasn't been throwing up anymore. What a relief! Sorry, I would've written sooner, but I haven't been on. I'm sure he either had a small flu or I probably wasn't feeding him enough since I was worried that it might upset his tummy. Thank you all for your help :) |
That's great to hear. Concerning feeding: I always follow the instructions on the package to start. If your dog is more active, he may need a bit more, he'll still be hungry. I can tell with mine bc he steals cat food. When he does that, I increase the amount I feed him. If your dog is less active, he may start to gain weight. Check his ribs occasionally. You want to be able to feel them, but you should be able to feel a layer of fat between the bone and skin. If you can't feel his ribs at all, he should be put on a diet ... but definitely check with your vet to be sure. |
