Spay question Lexi was spayed 2 weeks ago. The incision has healed nicely. Except there seems to be a small bump the size of a pea. Could it be a hernia? It does not bother her, even when I touch it. Anyone else seen this happen? She has a vet appt on Monday for her ears and I will surely have them check it then. |
It may still be healing ...or it may be a bit of scar tissue. |
If it is directly under her incision, it is probably internal stitches that will dissolve in time, still you could check with your Vet to make sure. |
It is not unusual for them to have a reaction to the internal sutures. Let the vet check it on Monday. Usually these things absolve on their own but occasionally they have to be drained. |
Forgot to tell you, a warm wet compress might help the swelling a little. |
Thank you all for your advice. I am sure it is probably part of the normal healing but it helps to hear it from you! I had an appt at the vet for Monday because she has been shaking her head and pawing her ear. I will have her check in incision as well. The daughter and I are going to Florida for a week so did not want to leave the hubby with any worries! |
