Do the breeder is a vet ? |
First off - Welcome to YT! Did you ask your vet about the herbal joint meds/restrict activity therapy? I've no knowledge of this subject other than being aware other yorkies have had to have surgery for this. Either way (meds or surgery) Dickens will have to be confined to restrict his activity for several weeks. |
sorry....but unless your breeder is a Vet - I don't suggest following the breeder over a Doctor... Do a search here on YT for Torn ACL I know there are a handful of babies that have has tremendous success in repairing the tear thru surgery. If you are not sure - I suggest a second opinion with an additional Vet |
My 90 pound Olde English Bull dog had a torn ACL. Vet told me to let it heal they will heal on thier own by growing scare tissue over the area. We gave him 2 months of no running or playing and he was fine He has torn this ACL twice and is doing fine. His was a very bad tare. AGain I am not a vet, but for me I went with the less avasive I could with him. They put him on pain meds for a bit and he was fine. You can usually tell that it is a torn ACL if they are toe touching with that leg/foot. that is how I can tell when Bubba tears his. Sure hope you fine what direction you want to go in and good luck with it. Please keep us posted. |
